IXION
IXION
is a new, modern Burlesque Company with it's roots solidly
planted in the past. IXION borrows its name and concept from
a burlesque show which opened in New York City in 1868-possibly
the first Burlesque produced in America! And like the
original, IXION has all the singing, dancing and STRIPPING
set in the farcical context of a retelling of the ancient
Greek play. In an era of virtual reality and empty irony,
Ixion is the real thing: the dancers are real women and the
music is live. No mere hodge-podge of one acts, Ixion tells
the tragicomedy of the ancient Greek king who is a little
too much like all of us.
Ixion features some of
New York's most talented performers including LEX GREY the
noted blues diva from Brooklyn, ALBERT GARZON,pianist, formally
of the Bindlestiff Family Cirkus and currently with the Va
Va Voom Room at the Fez in Manhattan, MARK KIRBY local personality
and drummer extraordinaire, and DALE CHANDLER a former ring
master with Barnum and Bailey Circus. Ixion also features
new talent in Deborah Smith (choreographer) Fatima Bazzy (mime),
Nicole Brucato (soprano voice) and tassel-twirlers FRENESI,
DIVINA and TANGERINE. Special guests at Coney Island May 30
are HARVEST MOON and her xylophone wielding sidekick FISHERMAN.

Champions Chris McDaniel and David Adamovich (The Great Throwdini)
brings a cavalcade of thrills to Coney Island's legendary
stage. You'll see Chris McDaniel's One-Man Wild West Show,
The Great Throwdini (The World's Fastest Knife Thrower) in
Maximum Risk, Ula the Painproof Rubber Girl's Bed of Machetes,
Gregory's circus arts montage, Anya's web act, Little Brooklyn
& Peaches n' Cream in Striptease Showdown and Charon Queen
of Swords.

to announce a limited run of "This
or That!, America's Favorite Burlesque Game Show"!
Part "Gong Show", part "Let's Make a Deal!"
and Part "Minsky’s Burlesque", this hilarious
live show presents a twisted contemporary take on the classic
TV game show format. Hosted by Coney Island's own Great
Fredini and downtown New York's burlesque starlet Julie
Atlas Muz, the show offers contestants the chance to win
unique prizes and view entertainment provided by world class
variety acts. You never know what will come next in a game
of "This or That!"… Now That's Entertainment!
