Date: June 22nd 2007

Hello Everyone!

Thanks for registering to march with us in the 25th Annual Mermaid Parade! The weather is going to be great and we are expecting a massive turn out. We already have more people lined now than took part in the entire parade last year. It's going to be crazy!

As we are busy putting the line of march together, I wanted to touch base with you all so help streamline things tomorrow.

So...

If you are receiving this email, your registration has been processed and you are good to go.

As in past years:

Registration will be open at 10 AM

The Parade begins at 2 PM; line up is scheduled for 1:30 PM

Marchers and push pull floats will check-in at West 10th Street

Antique cars will check-in at West 15th Street

Motorized Floats will check in at West 16th Street.

a changing tent will be provided at West 10th Street before the Parade, but will come down before the Parade ends

* The Museum will not be available for storage this year.

In addition...

1) The Police have informed us that they will be very strict about the alcohol policy. If you are marching or riding on a float and they see you drinking from an open beer can or an open bottle of liquor, they will pull you out of the parade and issue you a summons! We want everyone to have a good time, but please be judicious! Don't do anything that will make the cops unhappy.

2) The Police have also informed us that float riders may not throw things from their floats. Please do not throw things to the crowd. Do feel free to hand things out as you pass by. Sorry. We don't make the rules.

3) If you are driving a muscle car, please do not burn rubber! Again, the police will take license plates and mail you a summons. That would suck, so please don't do it.

4) After running in the parade, the antique cars are asked to head to West 21st Street and Surf Avenue to hang out temporarily. At the end of the Parade, the antique cars can then proceed back to West 15th Street for the rest of the day. More information will be available at West 15th Street upon check-in tomorrow.

5) On the other side of the spectrum, the judges have complained that in the past few years, the bribes have not matched their previous high quality. Sitting up there on the reviewing stand makes the judges *thirsty*!. You know what that means. Give the judges a little something to slake their thirst. But, you know, don't throw anything to them...

Thanks again for your support of Coney Island USA and the Mermaid Parade. We can't wait to see you! The Parade is going to be great!
