			July 8, 2009 Greetings from Coney Island, It’s that time Ladies and Gentleman, step right up for the 1st annual Coney Island USA Summer Fun Fundraising Challenge! That’s right CIUSA needs you. NY State Arts funding has been cut to shreds this year and we’re turning to you to help us raise the $150,000 we need to offset the drastic cuts to our budget. With your help, we'll be able to keep our doors open and continue bringing you all the innovative arts programming you’ve come to know and love. Click here to donate and become a member today The good news is that we’ve already raised $110,000 and we’re reaching out to you to help us raise the last $40,000 by September 30th. Don’t despair if you can’t fork over the whole $40,000 by yourself, there’s power in numbers. Any gift amount is welcome (tax-deductible too!) and puts us that much closer to our goal. Your donation (depending on the amount) could also qualify you for some top-notch perks like: • Free admission to the Sideshow • Membership in the Coney Island Film Society • A coveted Judgeship in the world famous Mermaid Parade! You’ll be helping power the Mermaid Parade, Burlesque at the Beach and bear responsibility for an incredible Sideshow- which both preserves an important American cultural tradition and also offers a first taste of live theatre for many New Yorkers. You can count among your great accomplishments helping maintain the Coney Island Museum – with its expanding collection of Coney Island artifacts and thought-provoking shows of Coney inspired contemporary art. Filmmakers will look up to you for your support of the Coney Island Film Festival and you can stop by the Freak Bar for a beer (preferably a Coney Island Lager!) and think “it’s nice to have a beer at home”.
