The Adult rides must be easier to take down than the kiddie rides are. They probably won't take them as long to dismantle. It looks like they will be done before the Jan 31 deadline!!! WOW!!!!!!!!! Bye Bye Astroland!!!!!

for someone whose nickname here is Coney Lover, i find it very ironic how much you seem to enjoy Astroland closing.

I just accept that it closed.I'm not in denial like most people here are.Even after seeing that the park is already half empty you still won't accept it.

Maybe it's a painful thing for some of us to deal with.
Some
of us, I emphasize.

For your information Coney Island is not just rides. Try walking on the Boardwalk, walk on the pier,go to a Cyclone's game. You might enjoy it. Walk down Mermaid Ave and see the REAL Coney Island!!!!!!!! You will be surprised that there is more to Coney Island than Astroland. Believe it or not it will still be here AFTER Astroland is gone!!!!!! WOW!!!!!!!!

SOME of u also think that Astroland is the only thing in CI and that when it goes CI will go to!!!!!!! How sad!!!!!!!! Deno's will be around so there will still be rides. The Ballpark and the Boardwalk will still be here too. We just have to hope that they will fix the Boardwalk soon!!! Everyone should concentrate on getting the Boardwalk fixed now!!!!!

Astroland is apart of Coney Island, not the only thing. Its a shame a part of Coney Island has to die because a land speculator throws a tantrum.

Trust us, kid - and I say that without any regard for how young or old you may be - if you have a look around the board and our history of postings, you'll become aware that none of us see Astroland as Coney Island's only attraction. God knows I've railed to the heavens endlessly when MuscleMonster has tried to say that "Coney Island is dead all winter long" - I'm a Polar Bear Club member, and enjoy the area year-round.
Yes, there is a hell of a lot more to Coney Island than Astroland. However, that does not diminish the shame of the park's closing - the whole matter is a disgrace, and a loss to Coney Island as a whole. Maybe you're quite right, in that everything will be okay - but without the anchor of Astroland, the area will suffer, at least for a time.
Now quit with the sappy/acrid blend of Pollyanna-gloating. It's getting old, and god knows we've faced it on these boards before - more often than not thanks to shills from Sitt's company. I surely hope you don't fit into that category.
