no, the site was not hijacked. Thor Equities must have let the url lapse--in other words they abandoned the futureofconey!--- and someone else renewed it. According to godaddy that someone else is Registrant:

Warning: The Future of Coney Island is now a porn website that Norton says will hijack your computer. Thor doesn't maintain anything--fences or websites-- danger everywhere! whether you're in Coney Island or at home in front of your computer.

Around 530pm I got the same result posted by Capt Nemo when I tried to click on "thefutureofconeyislandDOTcom" A warning message from Norton saying an attempt to hijack my computer had just been blocked. The risk name was Malicious Toolkit Variant and the risk level was High. So I had no idea what was actually on the website until I read Daisy's post. Since then I couldn't get the CIUSA message board to load until just a few moments ago. What about everyone else?

Perhaps Norton was doing its job to protect me from being attacked by thefutureofconeyisland. Perhaps the city should hire Norton to oversee the redevelopment of Coney Island right now!

that url is of course the one used by Thor back in '07
there are pix of the Thor website at http://kineticcarnival.blogspot.com/2007/02/thor-dishes-out-their-future-of-cone.... you can safely click on that link because it's Kinetic Carnival blog, not Thor's url. Not sure when they discontinued the "thefutureofconeyisland" site.

And of course the imagery from the thefutureofconeyisland site still appears on Thor's banners on their blighted properties throughout Coney. Last summer some of Thor's tenants said Thor required them to display the banners...

Was this like what happened back in October when a onetime newbie posted a malicious link on the B&B Carousel thread that forced your browser to a porn site and attempted to hijack your computer? On that occaision, just going to the thread initiated the attack...you didn't even have to click on any posted link, not that you were even able to see it before the redirect.
