The cost affidavit for the work permit for Sittland West
says the estimated cost of construction is $129,000
with a breakdown of $75K ((construction) and $44K for structural
http://a810-bisweb.nyc.gov/bisweb/BScanJobDocumentServlet?requestid=4&passjobnum...

“Chart Development LLC” (aka Thor/Sitt) to install a temporary tent at Sittland East was disapproved on March 11. The cost affidavit for that permit says $100,000.

That's $229K costs on paper for Chart Development.

they are pre-fab slabs and have many uses and yes it's possible to anchor anything down to them it can also be used for a temporary installments for tents ect... can be used also as a tilt-up wall  they still have a bunch of the boardwalk slabs on the westside of the parachute jump i didn't see these earlier should have had my eyes open when i took a walk today

I'm sure these aren't for ANY thing BullSitt is doing, to much $$$. I'd have to think that they are for the boardwalk deck or maybe for the trench in the pic below:

Wednesday, 3/25/9 :
At first I thought they were building a drain or sewer.  Now it looks like they're building another support for the boardwalk.  The west side of the boardwalk repair area does not have a support.   You can see in the photo above there is no columns to support the concrete slabs on the right side (west end).  So they are building another support, like the one on the left.

I really don't think its Ringling Bros. that's coming to Coney. I did some research on Ringling's site and they have only two Units, the Red and Blue which are both tied up now.  There was no mention of any other "mobile" circus Units coming to the NYC area.

My thought is Sitt is planning to shade whatever games of chance, side show "attractions" he can put on the land for the summer, which obviously would leave out rides.

He may be a good real estate speculator, but his organization is certainly not prepared to put anything of worth on the land, nor do I believe they have the expertise to find any entertainment companies that would be willing to pay the high rents he commands in such a short timeframe.

There is more than enough things to do this season at Coney Island and I'm sure it will be a good season for those busineses that are open.

BTW, has anyone heard whether Ruby's will be open this summer?  Dying for a cold beer and a frank or two at Nathans!

Siitland will probably have junky stuff on it but we are hoping for the best so people will see that amusements are sustainable.

The circus rumor is for Taconic land out near the Child's Building.  I believe it's this land between the Child's building (to the immediate left in this photo) and the Ice Skating rink (to the rght) with parking available right next door at the stadium.

Is it possible they are the slabs described earlier this year in the boardwalk discussion?

Capt_Nemo's photos look like Sitt's vision of Coney Island as recreation of D-Day landing craft obstacles on Omaha Beach.  "Devil's Asparagus"?  Boardwalk business being converted to pillboxes.  Hope the Supreme Allied Commander Bloomberg ("Mike") invades with eminent domain hedgechoppers.  Save Coney Island as "Longest Day" Jeffrey Hunter with demolition charges to blow Sitt's defenses.
