Welcome to the 2007 Mermaid Parade! This
is the 25th Anniversary, which is not bad for a parade that celebrates
creatures without feet!
This year, we salute Mythbuster Adam Savage
as 2007 King Neptune and Patti d'Arbanville as our noble Queen Mermaid!
Adam will be on hand to regale his loyal subjects and dispel the
evil myth that Coney Island is closing down! Coney
Island is not closing down and the Mermaid Parade will be celebrate
its 50th, 75th and 100th anniversaries! As
a native Brooklynite, Rescue Me star and former Andy Wharhol protégé,
Patti D'Arbanville comes to help us rescue Coney Island from the
press that says it’s closing down! Coney Island is not closing
down! Adam and Patti will be great royalty, so when you see them
on the route, give them a big Coney Island greeting!
And don’t forget the Mermaid Parade Ball!
This year, thanks to our friends at Taconic
Investment Partners the Mermaid Parade Ball will be held in
the landmarked Childs Restaurant Building! We’re very excited
to host the first public event in this space in 60 years! Find out
about the ball here!
