In The Kingdom of the Balding the DogFace Boy is King

Like Many, I’ve never felt included in a community. I’ve never wanted or looked to the greater macro-communities at large, ( sports, religion, politics, etc., YUCK!)

I’ve always looked to the fringe communities (The Goths, the Punks, the Trekies and the Comic Nerds, the queers and the cinephiles, etc.) with longing, not jealousy. I’ve always wanted something a little darker but also a little more incandescent, stranger but less rigid, a little less ordinary and also a little less naive.

I made forays into many of these communities and met great people and had great times, but didn’t feel a part or completely included or 100% committed.

I’ve been visiting Coney Island for decades, and have always wanted to be a part of the community here.

I now have my Artwork being exhibited here at the Coney Island USA Freak Bar. I’m not an acrobat or juggler, A specially Skilled performer or uniquely formed individual. A Harlequin or a Joker.

My Artwork is what I have to offer, and I believe that it represents some of the best parts of me.

Thank you Coney Island USA! I am Happy and Proud to be included here. I submit these tokens as a small contribution to the great celebrity, society and history that has been accumulated here!

I’ll take my little bit and burnish it like a diamond and brandish it to anyone who’ll look and listen.

And I will listen hopefully, but not expectantly. Longingly but not jealously, to hear those words. The call...
